Graphic Designer

Dept: Marketing/Advertising

Status: Salaried


Job Purpose:

The Graphic Designer is responsible for designing projects for Tractor Supply
Company’s media.

Primary Duties: 1 - 2

• Designs and produces:
o Direct Mail
Builds brand through layout and creation.
Carries message and purpose throughout.
o Print Central projects.
Prepares projects being designed or produced through Tractor Supply
Company while working with the Production and Creative manager.
o Special projects
Designs and produces while protecting the brand including
point of purchase, logos, etc.
Checks the press when needed.
Works with outside copywriters and vendors when required.
o Product brochures.
Develops TSC brochures while researching and working with
the buyers.
Chooses photography based on need.
Designs and produces a range of sizes and formats based on needs
and time within the brand.
o Circular design, bluebook catalog and signing for stores.
o Electronic media – including but limited to projects associated with
www.mytscstore.com.
o Other assigned media.

• Establishes and manages relationships with internal/external graphic support service

• Supports Creative Manager.
o Takes direction and helps with all projects being designed and printed.

Secondary Duties:
• Photo shoot experience on select projects.

• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Education and Experience:

High school education; 2-5 years related experience; any suitable combination of
education and experience will be considered.

Essential Skills:

• Knowledge and proficiency of Macintosh-based software, including InDesign and
QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.
• Demonstrate strong problem solving, communication, organizational, and
multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work independently, positively handle conflict, and work in a fast paced
environment.
• Display detail-oriented approach to work.
• Ability in Microsoft Office products and Windows is a plus.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Individuals in this position will encounter ambient room temperatures, lighting, and
traditional office equipment as found in any typical office environment. Individuals may
need to sit at a desk or table for long periods of time; to speak clearly and carefully listen
to customers; to reach over shoulder heights; crouch or stoop below the waist; repetitive
wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; and lifting as
required to file documents or store materials during the workday.
